ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Carl Schmitt

Carl Schmitt was a German philosopher who lived in the 1900s. He studied political science and wrote about the many different parts of government and how they should work together. He believed that government needed to have a strong leader who could make decisions and look out for the best interests of the people. He argued that without this strong leader, government could easily become chaotic and too powerful. He also thought that religion and law should be kept separate from each other, and that the law should always come first. In his writings, he argued that the law should be interpreted in a very strict and logical way, so that everyone could understand it.
