Casa-grande

Casa-Grande is a Spanish word that means "big house". It is usually used to describe an old and large house with a lot of rooms and a big garden. Think of it as a very, very big and fancy version of your own house, with lots of rooms and very high ceilings.

Now, when we talk about Casa-Grande in a historical context, we are usually talking about a specific type of big house that was built by wealthy people in Spain and Latin America during the colonial period. During this time, many Spanish colonizers came from Europe to settle in Latin American countries like Mexico, Peru, and Colombia. These colonizers built big houses, or "casa-grandes", to show off their wealth and power.

So, imagine a big and beautiful house with lots of rooms and fancy decorations, but that was built a very, very long time ago by very rich people who wanted to show off their power and prestige. That's what a Casa-Grande is!
