ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Cauldron

A cauldron is a big cooking pot that's typically used for boiling water, soups, or stews. It's usually made of metal or cast iron and has a round, deep shape with a wide opening at the top.

Imagine a really big pot that a witch might use to make a magical potion. Sometimes those pots are called "cauldrons."

Cauldrons have been used for centuries, not just in the magic world. People used to use them to cook food over an open flame, or to boil water to make it safe to drink.

Today, some people still use cauldrons for cooking. But many more people use them as decorations or as part of their Halloween or wizard-themed costumes.

So if you see a big pot with a lot of cool stuff inside, or you want to make some soup or stew, you might need a cauldron!
