Cave painting

Cave painting is when people a long, long time ago drew pictures on the walls of caves. They did this with things like stones, charcoal, and dirt. These pictures were usually of animals they saw around them, like deer, horses, and mammoths. Sometimes they also drew people, handprints, and symbols.

These paintings were very important to them because they didn't have things like phones, computers or cameras to take pictures of the world around them. So, they drew what they saw to show others what they had seen in the past.

Sometimes, they would also use the cave paintings as a way to tell stories. They would paint pictures in a certain order to show how things happened in a story. Other times, they would use the paintings to show that they were hunting or to ask for a good hunt in the future.

Even though cave paintings were made many, many years ago, they are still important because they show us what life was like a long time ago. They give us clues about how people lived, what they ate, and what they saw. And, they also show us that people have always had a love for art and storytelling.
