Censorship of images in the Soviet Union

Censorship is when someone tries to stop others from seeing or looking at something. In the Soviet Union, this included not just books and newspapers, but pictures, too. The government would decide which pictures could be seen, and which pictures couldn't be seen. If a picture showed something bad about the government, or something that might make people unhappy, then it would be censored and not allowed to be seen by anyone. Some pictures were even hidden away and not allowed to be seen at all.
