Censorship in the Soviet Union

In the Soviet Union, there were laws about what people could say and write about certain topics. These laws meant that people were not allowed to write or talk about certain topics which were against the government’s ideas. People were watched closely and if someone said or wrote something that was against these laws, they could be punished. It was very hard for people to express their true opinions in the Soviet Union because of the censorship rules.
