Imagine you're cold in your home and your mom brings you a blanket to keep you warm. Now, think of your whole house like your body and the blanket like the central heating system.
Central heating is a way to keep your whole house warm by using a machine called a furnace. The furnace heats up air and then sends that warm air through a system of ducts, which are like tunnels that run throughout your house.
The warm air flows out of little vents in each room of your house to make sure everyone is nice and cozy.
When it gets really cold outside, your thermostat (a little box on the wall that controls the central heating system) tells the furnace to make even more warm air. When it gets warm enough inside, the thermostat tells the furnace to stop making so much warm air.
So, central heating is kind of like giving your whole house a big warm hug to keep everyone comfortable.
