ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Cerebral edema

Cerebral edema is when your brain is swollen because it has too much fluid inside it. This can happen if you get hurt, like if you hit your head really hard. When your brain gets swollen, it can cause problems with how well you can think, talk, see, and move. It’s like if you put too much water into a balloon – the balloon gets big and doesn’t work right anymore. It's important to go see a doctor if you or someone you know has a head injury or is showing signs of having a swollen brain.
