Cetus (mythology)

Cetus is a big scary sea creature in ancient Greek mythology. It's sort of like a gigantic sea monster with scales and sharp teeth. Cetus is said to have been created by the god Poseidon, who is the god of the sea.

The ancient Greeks believed that Cetus was very powerful and could cause great harm to sailors and their ships. They also believed that Cetus was sometimes sent by the gods to punish people who had done something wrong.

In some old stories, Cetus would attack ships and try to drag sailors into the water. But in other stories, heroes would bravely fight and defeat the monster, saving themselves and their ships.

Today, Cetus isn't really believed to exist, but it still shows up in some books and movies as a scary sea creature.
