Changeling

Okay kiddo, have you ever heard of fairy tales and stories about magical creatures? There is a kind of creature called a changeling that appears in some of these stories.

A changeling looks like a regular baby but it's actually a fairy or a goblin that is pretending to be a human baby. The idea behind this is that the changeling is swapped for the human baby by the fairies or goblins.

In some stories, changelings are said to be babies that are sickly or born with a disability, and the fairies or goblins take them away and replace them with a healthy baby.

Some people in the past believed that changelings were real and that if your baby suddenly started acting differently, it might be a changeling. They would try to get rid of the changeling by doing things to make it uncomfortable, like playing music or making it sit on the cold hearthstone. Then the fairies or goblins would be so frustrated by the situation that they would take their changeling back and bring the human baby back.

But as we grow up, we learn that changelings are just make-believe, and there's no need to worry about them.
