ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Charge-transfer complex

A charge-transfer complex is made up of two molecules or ions that share electrons between each other. When one molecule or ion gives electrons to the other, this is called a 'charge transfer'. In a charge-transfer complex, the molecules or ions stick together because they share electrons. The sharing of electrons allows the molecules or ions to be attracted to each other, like they have an invisible force holding them together. It's like when two magnets are close to each other - they stick together. That stickiness is because they are sharing electrons!
