Chichen Itza

Chichen Itza is a place where people used to live a very long time ago, like way before our grandparents were born. It's in a country called Mexico and it's full of really big buildings made out of different kinds of rocks. Just like how we build Lego towers or sandcastles, these people used to build really cool towers and buildings with no machines or computers! One of the most famous buildings is called the "pyramid," which is really just a really tall triangle that goes up to the sky.

People used to come from all around to see these buildings and to have ceremonies and celebrations in this special place. They believed that the people who built these buildings were very smart and knew a lot about the stars and the moon. People still visit Chichen Itza today to learn about these amazing structures and to see how people lived a long, long time ago.
