Child Protective Services

Child Protective Services (CPS) is a group of people who help make sure that kids are safe and protected from harm. They have a really important job to do, and sometimes it can be hard and even scary for them to do it.

Sometimes, a grown-up might hurt a kid or not take good care of them. If CPS hears about this or thinks that it's happening, they will come to check things out. They might talk to the kid and the grown-up and look around the home to see if the kid is safe.

If they see that the kid is not safe, they will try to help fix the problem. They might tell the grown-up what they need to do differently, or they might take the kid away from the home and put them somewhere else that's safe.

CPS also helps kids who are in danger in other ways. They might help kids who are being bullied or who are homeless. They even help kids who are sick and need medical care.

It's important to remember that CPS is here to help kids and make sure they are safe. It can be scary if they need to get involved, but it's always to help make things better for the kids.
