Chilseok

Chilseok is a special day in Korea when people celebrate the annual meeting of two stars called the Altair and the Vega. Imagine that the Altair is like a mommy star and Vega is like a daddy star. They have a big distance between them, and can only meet once a year.

On this special day, people eat special foods like wheat porridge with fruits and vegetables and wear colorful clothes. They also write wishes on pieces of paper and tie them to bamboo trees and hang them outside their homes. These wishes could be for good fortune, love, or health.

Families also spend time together and tell stories about the Altair and the Vega, and how they only meet once a year. It's a happy time for everyone to celebrate love and family, just like how the mommy star and daddy star reunite every year.
