Tanabata

Tanabata is a special holiday that people in Japan celebrate every year. It's a very special day because people believe that two stars, named Vega and Altair, come together on this day to meet each other.

On this day, people in Japan hang special decorations made of bamboo and paper called "tanzaku" outside their homes. They write wishes on these decorations and hang them up so that the stars can read them and make them come true.

People also have parades and do special dances to celebrate this day. They eat special foods and wear special clothes to honor this occasion.

So, in simpler terms, Tanabata is a day when people in Japan celebrate the meeting of two stars and make wishes for their dreams to come true.
