ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Chinese dominoes

Chinese dominoes are like little blocks that people use to play games. Each block is rectangular, kind of like a piece of toast. The blocks are made out of white plastic or sometimes they are colored too.

One side of the block has dots on it, like you would see on dice. But instead of having six dots, there can be up to nine dots on each block. Each block can have a different number of dots, so some have one dot, some have two dots, and so on up to nine dots.

When people play Chinese dominoes, they take turns putting blocks down on the table. They have to match the numbers on the sides of the block with the same number of dots. So, if they put down a block with five dots, they have to find another block with five dots to put next to it.

When someone can't put any more blocks down, they take a new block from a pile of extra blocks. The goal is to get rid of all their blocks before anyone else does.

Sometimes people play Chinese dominoes to bet money, but mostly it's just a fun game to play with friends and family.
