Chinese input methods for computers

Chinese input methods are ways of typing in Chinese on a computer. Chinese is a language with thousands of characters, so it's hard to type them out one by one. Chinese input methods make it easier to type by allowing you to type out pinyin, which is a kind of shorthand for Chinese characters. Each Chinese character will have several pinyin possibilities and the computer can guess which character you mean. By typing out the pinyin, you can choose which Chinese characters you want to use.
