ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Christianity and politics

Christianity is a religion based on the teachings of Jesus Christ. In Christianity, people believe that Jesus is the son of God, and that through his life and teachings they can learn how to live in a way that reflects God's will.

Politics is about making decisions about how a society should be run. People in politics make decisions about things like taxes, laws, and even how to use money.

There can be some connection between Christianity and politics. Many people who are Christian try to live out their beliefs in their political decisions. They may want to make sure that laws reflect their beliefs about how people should live. They may also want to make sure that money is used in ways that are in line with their faith.

At the same time, some people feel that religion and politics should stay separate. This means that they don't think that people should be making decisions based on their religious beliefs. They may think that religion and politics should be kept separate so that everyone can make decisions without being influenced by their faith.
