ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Christmas Waits

Christmas waits are a fancy way of saying that we have to wait for Christmas day to arrive. Think of it like waiting for your birthday, but for the whole world. Christmas is a special day that lots of people celebrate every year, and it's always on the 25th of December.

While we're waiting for Christmas day to arrive, we do lots of things to get ready. We might listen to Christmas songs, decorate our houses with lights and ornaments, or even write letters to Santa Claus! Some people might even start shopping for presents that they will give to their friends and family on Christmas day.

One thing that makes Christmas waits even more exciting is that we have an advent calendar. An advent calendar is like a countdown to Christmas, and it has little doors or pockets that we can open up during December. Inside, there might be chocolate or little toys that we can play with!

So, even though we have to wait for Christmas day to arrive, there are lots of fun things we can do in the meantime to get ready for it. And when it finally does arrive, we get to spend time with our loved ones, exchange gifts, and eat yummy food!
