Chronobiology is the study of how living things' bodies keep track of time. Our bodies are made up of lots of small things called cells and these cells all work together in different ways depending on the time of day. For example, you probably feel awake and alert when it's morning, but get tired and sleepy when it's night. That's because your cells are sending messages to each other to get your body ready for when it's time to be awake or time to go to sleep. Chronobiology is the science of understanding how cells (and bodies) know when it's time to do different things.
