So there were a bunch of really good people who lived a long long time ago, in the 3rd century. They were so good that people thought they were extra special and should be remembered forever. These people are called "saints".
Now, people started making a list of all these saints, but they wanted to put them in order from the earliest ones to the most recent ones. This is called a "chronological list".
So, they looked at when each saint was born and when they died, and they put them in order based on that. The first person on the list was born the earliest, and the last person on the list was born the most recently.
Now this list had a lot of saints on it! But some of the most famous ones from the 3rd century were: St. Agatha, St. Catherine of Alexandria, St. Lawrence, and St. Sebastian. It was important for people to remember all of these amazing saints, so they made sure to write down their names and when they lived so they wouldn't be forgotten.
