Christianity in the 3rd century

So imagine you're playing with your toys and your parents tell you about a man named Jesus who lived a long, long time ago. Some people really liked him and followed his teachings, and they started calling themselves Christians.

In the 3rd century, lots of people in the Roman Empire were Christians, but it wasn't easy for them. The rulers of the empire didn't like Christians, and sometimes they would hurt them or even kill them.

But the Christians kept sharing their beliefs and telling others about Jesus. They also had meetings where they would pray, sing songs, and read from special books called the Bible.

During this time, some Christians started arguing about what they believed. Some thought Jesus was just a man, while others thought he was actually God in human form. This was a big deal, and it caused a lot of disagreements and even fighting among the Christians.

Eventually, a group of Christian leaders got together to figure out what everyone believed. They wrote down a statement of faith called the Nicene Creed, which said that Jesus was both fully God and fully human.

After that, most Christians agreed on what they believed, and they continued to spread their faith even in the face of persecution from the Roman Empire.
