Cladistics

Cladistics is a way of understanding the relationships between different living things. It looks at their physical features (called characteristics) to figure out what they have in common and how they are related. Cladistics is based on the idea that living things that have similar characteristics are more closely related than those with different characteristics. It's sort of like making a big family tree with animals and plants and figuring out who is related to who.
