ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Clarke's Third Law

Have you ever heard of science fiction stories or movies where robots can talk and do things on their own? Well, one very smart man named Arthur C. Clarke came up with a really cool idea that says "any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic."

What that means is, if a technology is really, really advanced, people who don't know how it works might think it's like magic! Just like when you see a magician do a trick and you don't know how they did it, you might think it was magic.

So Clarke's Third Law is just a way of saying that really advanced technology can seem like magic to people who don't understand it. It's kind of like a secret code between scientists and people who love science fiction stories!
