Class stratification is like a ladder or pyramid. At the very top is a small group of people who have the most money, power, and control. At the bottom is a large group of people who have the least money, power, and control. In between those two groups are other groups, each with different amounts of money, power, and control. Because the people at the top have the most, they get to make decisions that affect all of the other groups. This means that the people at the bottom don't always get what they need and want.
