Claviharp

Okay kiddo, imagine a big wooden box with strings attached to it. These strings are stretched tightly across the box and when you hit or pluck them, they make a sound. That's kind of like what a claviharp is!

A claviharp is an instrument that was invented a long time ago in Europe. It looks like a harp that is sitting in a box. Instead of having lots of strings that you play with your hands, a claviharp only has a few strings and they are played with little hammers that look like drumsticks.

When you hit one of the strings with a hammer, it makes a sound. But here's where it gets really cool. You see, each string on the claviharp has a little piece of metal attached to it. When you hit the string, the metal piece touches a metal plate inside the box. This creates a special buzzing sound that makes the claviharp sound different from other instruments.

So that's what a claviharp is, kiddo. A really neat wooden box with strings and metal pieces that you play with hammers. It makes a special sound that sounds like both a harp and a guitar!
