A climate lawsuit is when people or groups of people sue governments to try to help stop climate change. In a climate lawsuit, a group of people tries to show that the government is not doing enough to stop climate change. This could mean that the government isn’t doing enough to reduce greenhouse gases, the pollutants that cause climate change. Or it could mean that the government isn't protecting important things, like nature and wildlife, that are directly affected by climate change. The people suing the government are trying to get the government to do something to reduce climate change. If the court agrees with the lawsuit, the court will tell the government to do something to help stop climate change.
