ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Coastal Forces of the Royal Canadian Navy

Imagine playing with toy boats in the bath tub or a swimming pool. Have you ever noticed the waves the boats create when they move around? Now, think about big boats like ships sailing in the ocean. They also create waves, but much bigger ones!

The Royal Canadian Navy is a group of people who control big boats, called ships, to protect Canada from danger in the water. Sometimes, the danger comes from other countries who may try to harm or invade Canada using their own ships. This is why the Royal Canadian Navy works hard to keep Canadian waters safe.

Coastal Forces are a special group of the Royal Canadian Navy who are in charge of smaller boats, called craft, that can travel quickly along the coasts of Canada. These boats are very fast, but they can also move silently, which is very important when trying to surprise the enemy.

The Coastal Forces use these smaller craft to patrol the coast and protect important places like harbors and ports. They also make sure that no one is sneaking into Canada from the water! They keep a close eye on all the ships moving around the coast, and make sure that everything is safe and no one is up to any trouble.

So, just like you playing with toy boats, the Coastal Forces of the Royal Canadian Navy use their boats to keep Canada safe!
