Coating

Coating is a type of special material that covers objects to protect or decorate them. It's kind of like a special paint, except it's thicker and stronger. For example, your bike might have a coat of paint or a special plastic coating to keep it from rusting and make it look nice. You may also see coating around buildings to protects them from wind, rain and other elements.
