Plastic film

Alright, kiddo, have you ever played with a piece of plastic wrap when your mommy or daddy was wrapping something up? Plastic film is just like that, but it's a lot bigger and can be used for lots of things.

Plastic film is made from a material called polyethylene. This material is stretched out really thin to create a thin, clear sheet of plastic. It can be made in different thicknesses, and some types are stronger than others.

People use plastic film for all sorts of things. For example, food companies use it to package snacks, like chips or crackers, to keep them fresh. But plastic film can also be used for things like wrapping gifts, covering food dishes to transport, or even as a barrier for construction material.

Some plastic films are even recyclable, which means that after you use it, instead of throwing it away, you can put it in a special bin where it will be made into new things like playground equipment, park benches, or even new plastic film!

It's important to remember to use plastic film responsibly, however. It can take a very long time to break down in the environment, so we should always try to use only what we need and recycle it when we can!
