ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

College ice hockey

College ice hockey is like when you and your friends go outside and play a game of hockey on the ice, but with big kids who go to college and play for their school. They wear special uniforms and use big sticks with flat ends to hit a small, hard puck into a net.

The game is played on an ice rink, which is like a big area that is very cold and covered in ice. The rink has two sides, one for each team. Each team has players who try to score points by hitting the puck into the other team's net while their goalie tries to stop the puck from going in.

There are rules that the players have to follow to keep the game fair and safe. For example, they can't hit other players with their sticks or bodies. If they break the rules, they can get penalties and have to sit out of the game for a while.

College ice hockey is really exciting to watch because the players are very skilled and fast on the ice. There are also rivalries between different schools, so when they play against each other it can be very intense and fun to watch.
