Colonial Dames of America

Imagine a group of very special ladies who love history and want to learn more about the people and events that happened a long, long time ago in America. They call themselves Colonial Dames of America or CDA for short.

Now, let’s think about what the word “colonial” means. A long time ago, over 200 years ago, America was not like it is today. Back then, it was a place controlled by countries like Britain, France, and Spain. These countries sent people to America to live and make it their home. These people are called colonists because they lived in colonies.

The CDA members are direct descendants of these colonists who lived a really long time ago in America. They want to remember their ancestors and their contribution to the country and share their stories so that kids like you and me can learn from it.

You know that feeling you get when you learn something new and it sparks curiosity in you to learn more? Well, that’s what CDA wants to do; spark curiosity and help keep history alive. They explore history through art, literature, architecture, and they make sure that the stories of their colonial ancestors are never forgotten.

So, Colonial dames of America is a group of ladies that love history and love to talk about their ancestors who were part of the colonies that helped shape America. They help us understand what life was like a long time ago, and they do it with joy and excitement, making history interesting and fun!
