ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Colorado 1870-2000 (book)

Okay kiddo, so there was this place called Colorado where people lived, and some smart people wrote a book about what life was like there from 1870 to 2000.

Back in 1870, Colorado was a lot different than it is now. People were just starting to move there, and there were a lot more open spaces than there are today. There were also some big changes happening, like the end of slavery and the start of women's rights.

As time went on, more and more people came to live in Colorado. They built cities and roads and businesses, and life became more modern. But the book also talks about some of the problems that came with this, like pollution and inequality.

In the 1900s, Colorado saw some big events, like wars and protests and environmental disasters. The book talks about how these things affected the people who lived there, and how they tried to make things better.

So basically, the book tells us the story of how Colorado grew and changed over a long period of time. It's like a big history lesson, but with lots of pictures and stories to make it more interesting.
