ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Common Travel Area

Alright kiddo, so there are these countries that are very close to each other and they have an agreement between them. This agreement is called the Common Travel Area (CTA).

It’s like when you and your friend agree to share your toys when you have a playdate. In the CTA, people can travel freely between the countries without needing to show their passports.

So imagine if you wanted to go and visit your grandparents in Ireland, you wouldn't need to show your passport when you arrive there since you are coming from another CTA country like the UK. It's super easy and convenient!

The CTA helps people move around easily for work, study or vacationing. So it's like having one big playground to play with your friends without having to worry about which toy belongs to whom.

Does that make sense, kiddo?
