Common vulnerabilities and exposures (or CVEs for short) are problems or weaknesses in computer systems, networks or software. They can be used by hackers to gain access to a system without permission or to cause damage. CVEs typically happen when something is not set up correctly, like leaving a digital door open or using weak passwords.
