Communal Wildlife Conservancies in Namibia

Imagine you have a big playground with lots of animals like lions, elephants, giraffes, and antelopes. Now, you and your friends want to make sure these animals are always safe and happy, so you decide to create a team that takes care of them. You call this team a 'conservancy.'

In Namibia, many communities have decided to create their own conservancies to take care of the wildlife around them. These conservancies are like big playgrounds where animals can live and play safely without being harmed by humans or getting lost in the big cities.

The people who live near these conservancies work together to make sure the animals stay safe and healthy. They do this by building fences to keep the animals in and the humans out. They also make sure there is plenty of water and food for the animals to eat.

The people who live near the conservancies also make money by inviting visitors to come and see the animals. The visitors pay money to stay nearby and watch the animals from a distance. This money goes back into the conservancy to help take care of the animals and make sure they're happy.

So, communal wildlife conservancies in Namibia are like big playgrounds where animals are safe and happy, and people work together to take care of them. These conservancies help ensure that both animals and humans can coexist peacefully and enjoy all the amazing wildlife that Namibia has to offer.
