ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Communalism (South Asia)

Communalism is a kind of thinking that causes people to put too much importance on their own cultures, religions, and ethnic groups. This often causes people of different backgrounds to treat each other unfairly, or even fight with each other. In South Asia (which is a region in Asia that includes countries like India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh), communalism has caused a lot of conflict over the years. People from different backgrounds are often divided along religious lines and don't get along with each other. This can lead to serious problems like violence and even war. Communalism can be very dangerous, and people in South Asia have to work together to overcome it and create a peaceful society.
