Communicating vessels are two containers that are connected with a tube. The containers have the same amount of liquid inside them, so when you pour more liquid into one container, the same amount of liquid will pour out of the other container. The liquid is the same in both containers, so the levels of liquid in the vessels are always the same. It's like a seesaw when someone sits on one end, the other end goes down. It's the same with communicating vessels. When liquid is added to one, liquid is taken out of the other.
