ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Community College Research Center

Hi there! So, you know how your kindergarten class is like a little community? Well, a community college is kind of like that too, but for grown-ups who want to learn new things. And the community college research center is like a special room where the grown-ups who work at the college study how to make the college even better for everyone who goes there.

You know how your teacher might give you a special project to work on and ask you lots of questions to see how you did? Well, the people who work in the community college research center do that same thing but for the whole college. They ask questions like: How can we help more people go to college? How can we make sure everyone at the college feels welcomed and included? And how can we make sure everyone who goes to college learns everything they need to know?

Then, the people in the research center do a lot of investigating and looking at numbers (sort of like counting how many blocks you have in your toy box). They want to see if the things they tried worked or not. And if something didn't work, they'll try something different to see if that works better.

So, in a nutshell, the community college research center is like a group of grown-ups who study how to make the community college a great place for everyone to go and learn new things!
