Hey kiddo! So, you know how when we put our toys in a toy box, we try to fit as many toys as possible in it without any toys sticking out? That's called "Compact".
Similarly, in math, a "Compact Set" means that if we have a bunch of points (like dots) in a set, we want them to be all squished together in one tiny area without any of those points being outside of that area. It's like putting all the toys in the toy box and closing the lid so that no part of any toy is sticking out.
Sometimes, if we have lots and lots of dots, we might not be able to put them all in one area. But if we can, then we call it a Compact Set. And this is useful because it helps us solve math problems and understand how things work in the world around us.
