Comparative genomics is a way of studying the genetic code of two different species in order to find out how similar or different they are. It is like comparing two books (the genetic code). We look at how long the two books are, how many chapters there are in each book, what type of words are used in each chapter, how many times certain words are used, etc. By comparing two books, we can see how things are the same or different. We can also learn more about how different animals evolved and changed over time.
