Computer Graphics Metafile

Hey there! Do you know how you like to draw and color pictures on paper? Well, imagine that you have a special paper where you can draw amazing pictures using a computer. That's called computer graphics!

Now imagine that you draw a really cool picture and you want to share it with your best friend who lives far away. You can't just give them the special paper where you drew the picture because they don't have the same paper. So, what do you do? You make a copy of your picture and send it to them!

But, what if your friend doesn't have the same computer as you do? Will they still be able to see your picture? That's where Computer Graphics Metafile or CGM comes in!

A CGM is like a special type of file that stores the instructions for how to draw a picture. When you save your picture as a CGM file, it creates a copy of your drawing using instructions that any computer can understand.

So, your friend can then take that CGM file and open it on their computer. Their computer will use the instructions in the CGM file to draw the exact same picture that you drew!

And that's how Computer Graphics Metafile works. It's a way to share and save computer drawings so that anyone with any type of computer can see them. Pretty cool, huh?
