Computer-adaptive test

Okay, kiddo, have you ever taken a test in school? Imagine if that test was a special kind of test called a computer-adaptive test. This means that the computer is going to ask you questions, but the questions it asks will be based on how well you're answering the previous questions.

Let's say the first question is easy. If you get it right, the computer will give you a harder question next. If you get that one right, then the computer will give you an even harder question. But let's say you get the first question wrong. The computer will give you an easier question next.

This kind of test helps to make sure you're being tested at the right level. It's like Goldilocks – not too hard, not too easy, but just right. And because the computer is figuring out what level to test you at, it means you won't be wasting time on questions that are too easy or getting frustrated with questions that are too hard.

So that's what a computer-adaptive test is! It's just like a regular test, but the computer is making sure it's at the right level for you.
