ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Electronic assessment

Electronic assessment is when teachers use a computer or other electronic devices to test what their students have learned. Instead of writing on paper, students answer questions using a computer, tablet or other device. It makes testing more fun and engaging for students and easier for teachers.

Just like when you play games on your tablet or phone, electronic assessment tools have different games or activities that students can do to show what they learned. Questions can be answered in different ways like multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank, drag and drop or even typing out answers.

After students finish their tests, their scores are automatically calculated and sent to the teacher. This means that teachers don't need to spend hours checking papers and can focus on helping students improve their understanding of the subject.

Overall, electronic assessment is a cool way to use technology to help teachers understand what we know and how we can learn better.
