Confidence and security-building measures

Confidence and security-building measures are ways that different countries can make sure that if there is a conflict between them, it isn't too serious. These measures try to make sure that both sides understand what is happening, and that there is trust between them. For example, countries might agree to hold meetings with each other, or to share information like the sizes of their armies, so that if there is a misunderstanding, it can be resolved quickly and peacefully.
