Appeasement

Appeasement is when a country agrees to do something that another country wants them to do, even if it is not good for the first country, in order to avoid a fight or conflict. It is like giving in to the other country, or making peace with them instead of fighting or arguing. It is sometimes done to keep a bad situation from getting worse.
