ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Conjunction (grammar)

A conjunction is like a very special word that helps glue sentences together. It's like a magic word that says "Hey, these two sentences really belong together!"

For example, let's say you want to say "I like cookies. I also like cake." You can use a conjunction (like "also" or "and") to make it into one sentence like this: "I like cookies and I also like cake."

There are a bunch of different kinds of conjunctions, like "and" (which means you're adding more stuff), "or" (which means you have a choice between two things), and "but" (which means you're going to say something that's kind of opposite to what you just said).

Conjunctions are really handy because they help us use words to communicate better with each other!
