Conservation refugee

A conservation refugee is someone who has to leave their home because of a plan to protect the environment. This often happens when the government or other people want to create a park or wildlife area. They take an area of land and tell people they can't live there anymore or use the land for farming or hunting. People who used to live there have to move somewhere else.

This can be tough for the people who have to leave. They might have lived in that area for a long time or have family or friends there. They might also rely on the land for food or money. But it's also important to protect the environment and make sure that animals have safe places to live.

So while it's sad for people to have to leave their homes, it's important to remember that protecting the environment is important too.
