Contact force

Have you ever tried to push a big rock? You have to apply a force to move it. That's called a contact force. It's when you touch something and apply a force to it.

Now, imagine you have a toy car and you want to move it on the floor. You have to push it with your hand. That's a contact force too!

A contact force can be a push or pull on an object. It can make an object move or stop moving. It can also change the direction an object is moving in.

So, next time you push something, remember that you are applying a contact force!
