Non-contact force

A non-contact force is a type of force that doesn't need things to touch to work. It's like magic! There are things in the world called fields, which are kind of like invisible forces that surround things. Imagine if you are holding a magnet, and you bring it closer to a paper clip without touching it; the paper clip may move towards the magnet like a magic trick. That's a non-contact force at work! The magnet is creating a magnetic field that pulls the paper clip towards it.

Non-contact forces happen all around us. For example, gravity is a non-contact force that pulls us down towards the earth, even when we're not touching it. Similarly, electricity and magnetism are non-contact forces that can attract or repel things without touching them, just like the example with the magnet and paperclip.

Even though non-contact forces may seem mysterious and magical, they are real and important in the world of physics. Scientists use the idea of non-contact forces to explain how things work and why objects behave in certain ways. So even though we can't always see non-contact forces, they are constantly at play around us!
